Guidelines for Author
Aims and Scope
Comparative Education Studies (CES) is the journal of the Comparative Education Society of India (CESI). It serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas on regional, national, and international aspects of education. CES is a biannual, open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal committed to advancing educational research and fostering a community of thinkers contributing to knowledge generation.
Journal Sections
We welcome submissions to the following sections:
- Research Articles: Original research contributions spanning 6000 to 8000 words.
- Commentaries: Shorter pieces ranging from 1500 to 3000 words, covering topical issues. This section also welcomes diverse content such as movie reviews, poems, interviews, pedagogic engagements, reflections from practice, notes on methods, and engagement with thinkers and texts.
- Book Reviews: Reviews of academic books within the range of 1000 to 1500 words.
Authors are encouraged to select the appropriate section for their submissions based on the content and scope of their work.
The Editorial Board may periodically announce thematic special issues, inviting authors to submit their work accordingly. Additionally, groups of authors have the opportunity to collaborate and propose special issues by submitting a thematic abstract (500 words) along with individual paper abstracts (150-200 words) outlining the proposed content. All guidelines related to editorial policy and manuscript submission, as outlined below, are also applicable to manuscripts submitted for special issues.
Editorial Policy
- CES ensures broad accessibility to its content through open access. It operates on a non- profit basis and does not levy any fees from authors or readers.
- Authors are expected to submit works that have not been previously published in any other form or are not currently under consideration elsewhere.
- The editorial desk will initially review submissions for adherence to basic guidelines. Submissions meeting these criteria will then be forwarded to reviewers for further evaluation.
- All submissions will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published work. Papers are evaluated for acceptance based on their quality, originality, and relevance to our readership.
- Authors are required to adhere to high ethical standards throughout the research and writing process. This includes ensuring proper citation of sources and avoiding plagiarism in all submitted work. Additionally, authors must have conducted their research in accordance with ethical guidelines, ensuring the confidentiality and privacy of participants, obtaining informed consent, and maintaining integrity in reporting findings. Failure to adhere to these ethical standards may result in rejection of the manuscript.
- The author who made the most substantial contribution should typically be listed first, followed by others in descending order of their contribution levels.
- Authors should provide clear information about any grants or financial assistance received that facilitated the conduct of the research
